polyadenylation of mrna

PAG Title polyadenylation of mrna
PAG ID WAG000026
Type P

Publication Reference NA
PAG Description Gene expression requires the coordition and integration of multiple processes, including transcription, splicing, polyadenylation, nucleocytoplasmic export, and translation of mRs. Posttranscriptiol addition of poly (A) to the 3' end of mR is important process conserved from bacteria to humans. In eukarya, polyadenylation is essential for the stability of many mRs and also influences the efficiency of translation. Most histone-mRs and all sn-Rs (except U6), however are not polyadenylated. The mature mR moves to the nuclear surface and is exported through nuclear pores.
